Your Philosophy Minute (YPM) consists of brief discussions of philosophy (90-120 seconds each). Currently in production, the spots are designed to air perhaps once or twice a week either at specific scheduled times or else provide a transition between other programs when such would be useful or necessary. They will appeal to a very wide range of people. Their accessibility and brevity will attract the interested educated layperson and anyone with a desire for intellectual engagement. Their somewhat lighter tone combined with their intellectual substance also suggests an equal appeal to younger and older listeners, anywhere from high school or college students all the way through senior citizens. Lots of people want to learn about philosophy, and find themselves thinking philosophical questions, but (i) are (rightly) daunted by the many long and dense tomes available to them, and (ii) gain and retain little from the wealth of facts presented to them therein. YPM is easy to listen to, easy to digest, and, most of all, fun -- yet will stimulate the mind, get the listener thinking, and satisfy (or more likely increase!) that intellectual hunger.
